Eight Incredible Days in Israel!

Join Rev. Paul Hensley on an 8-day tour of Israel.

Rev. Hensley is the pastor of Life Church of Waynesville, N.C.

Many have said they would LOVE to tour Israel but due to limited vacation time need a tour shorter in length. Broad enough to see the historical sites that put the Old Testament into perspective, but focused enough to come away with an intimate knowledge of where Jesus walked and where the events of Revelation will take place.  THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!

The six-day itinerary on this tour will help the pilgrim put the historical events and sites of the Bible in place. You will walk where Jesus walked, see the places and hear of the events that led up to that time, and come to a greater understanding of the events yet to transpire. Pilgrims on this journey will come away with a panoramic view of key Biblical events, but with an intimate knowledge of those last days of Christ’s life. Register for this group today, and journey with a group of fellow believers from the Life Church of Waynesville, North Carolina traveling with Rev. Paul Hensley.

You begin the day with a drive up the coast to the ancient port city of Caesarea Maritime where the ancient harbor, hippodrome and great theatre stand. The events of Acts 12 took place there. Close by you will see the aqueducts built by Herod the Great and then view the Valley of Armageddon from the heights of Mt. Carmel where Elijah slew the prophets of Baal. Descending from there you will visit Megiddo, Solomon’s Ancient chariot city, view Ahab’s water tunnel, cross the entire Jezreel Valley and begin the climb through the lower Galilean Mountains to Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus. You then go to your wonderful resort on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight.
  • Wed., Feb. 13: Sea of Galilee / Boat Ride / Jesus Boat / Mount of Beatitudes / Capernaum / Caesarea Philippi / Golan Heights / Baptism in Jordan
When you awake you can watch the sunrise before breakfast. You will enjoy a boat ride and time of worship on the Sea and sail to Nof Ginnosar to view an ancient boat. You will follow the footsteps of Christ as you visit the Mt. of Beatitudes and ancient Capernaum, before heading north for Caesarea Phillippi, then traveling through the Golan Heights before having the opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River. Then dinner and overnight.
  • Thurs., Feb. 14: Harrod’s Spring /Bet Shean / Jericho / Wadi Qelt / Judean Wilderness / Ascend to Jerusalem / Mt. of Olives overlook – Arrive at hotel for first of three overnights in Jerusalem
Awake for your last view of the Sea of Galilee before beginning the drive to Jerusalem. Traveling alongside the Gilboa Mountain Range you will visit Harrod’s Springs and see where Gideon tested his men. Before going down the Jordan Valley you will visit Bet Shan. Though not mentioned in the New Testament, it is the best preserved Roman City of that time. After a lunch break you will enjoy the route the pilgrim’s would have taken as they made their way to the great feasts of Israel.  Passing by ancient Jericho, you begin the climb to the breathtaking city of Jerusalem where you will stand on the Mount of Olives overlook to view the city. It is the place that God loved like no other;  where he put His Name, where Jesus walked, taught, died, and rose again… Jerusalem. You will check into your hotel, have dinner, and enjoy your first night in the beautiful city of Jerusalem.
  • Fri., Feb. 15: Temple Mount/ Western Wall / Rabbinical Tunnels / Lunch / Israel Museum/ Yad Vashem / Second overnight in Jerusalem
This morning you rise early to visit the most sacred place on earth, Mt. Moriah. You will visit theTemple Mount and the centuries old “Dome of the Rock” built 688 – 691 A.D., and exit into the Jewish Quarter. You will visit the Western Wall and tour the incredible Rabbinical Tunnels.  Today you will have the opportunity to have lunch in the area of the Old City.

You will stop at the Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and the incredible scale model of the ancient city of Jerusalem. The day will end at the site that every visitor to Israel must see, Yad Vashem or the Holocaust Museum. This is Israel’s memorial to the six-million Jews who were put to death by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime of Germany during the days of WWII. This is a moving experience that includes a visit to the children’s museum in memory of the two- million children who were sent to their deaths at the hands of the Nazis.

  • Sat., Feb. 16: Masada / En Gedi / Qumran / Dead Sea / final overnight in Jerusalem
You will spend an exciting morning descending to the Plains of Jericho; then on to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, and Qumran, the center of the Essenes. Qumran is home of the ancient caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. From there, the group will continue south to the desert where ibex roam at Ein Gedi, David’s hideout from Saul. Then on to the mighty fortress Masada, the last stronghold and stand of the zealots against Rome, on the edge of the barren Negev Desert.  Masada is a symbol of courage and perseverance for the Jewish people, where 960 Jewish defenders organized their last resistance to the roman conquerors and took their own lives rather than surrender into slavery. Those who wish to do so may swim (float) in the salty waters of the Dead Sea. You will then follow the ancient path the pilgrims followed ascending to Jerusalem and retire to your hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
  • Sun., Feb. 17: Mount of Olives Overlook / Garden of Gethsemane / House of Caiaphas / lunch / Ecce Homo sisters of Zion / Pools of Bethesda / Garden Tomb / Gordon’s Calvary / Farewell dinner / To airport for  late night departure

After a lunch stop, you visit the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed an invalid man; visit St. Anne’s Church; continue to the Fortress of Antonia, seat of the Roman Procurator, site of the public trial of Christ, and his condemnation and scourging, then make your way along the Via Dolorosa and Calvary to the nearby Garden Tomb. You will complete your tour of Israel on the last afternoon at Calvary and the Garden Tomb.  After that awesome experience you share a sumptuous Farewell Dinner before departing for Tel Aviv for a late night departure to the USA.
